Labor day eats and treats edition. This delicious ribs recipe is a great addition to your culinary catalog.
Here in the USA, we have quite a few holidays. There is always a good reason to cook something sweet or savory. One of my favorite holidays to cook the day away is Labor Day. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this day, it is a federal holiday here in the US. Since 1887, it is celebrated on the 1st Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.
This holiday will always be a symbol of solidarity and unification for the laboring class. Labor Day weekend is usually kicked off with a parade in every major city followed by a carnival or picnic in your local Community. If that isn't your thing you are encouraged to throw your own labor day celebration at your home. That is why it is such a fun holiday because the government is encouraging you to take a 3-day weekend and have a great time. I have fond memories of my mom and dad hosting some really great Labor Day weekend BBQ parties.
Labor Day is called the "unofficial end of summer" because it marks the end of the cultural summer season. Many take their two-week vacations during the two weeks ending Labor Day weekend
You were always sure to find someone eating delicious ribs, hot links, homemade potato salad, and a wonderful dessert. Now, as an adult, one of my favorite things to do on Labor Day weekend is to cook my finger-licking ribs and throw a small get-together for everyone to partake in and enjoy. These Ribs take a while to cook. I keep the party going by playing spades or dominoes. When they come out, it is always worth the wait. There is rarely any left. I usually stash away a few for me to eat later for lunch the next day. They taste delicious a day after they have been cooked. It is a definite Labor day Weekend treat you and whoever you are cooking for will enjoy. This recipe will not only impress your friends but that special someone. It is a rarity for women to be able to cook ribs this good...Or so I have been told.
