What's more American than making the perfect Burgers for President's Day...

In the last 12 years, America has had some pretty colorful Heads of State. When put up against others I am sure they will leave a lasting impression on our country's hearts and culture.
Presidents Day is a day for all Americans to acknowledge and reflect the Presidents of the United States. It is a celebration to honor all those who served as presidents of the United States, since 1879. The day itself, is celebrated on The very first President George Washington's birthday, Our very first President.
What better way to celebrate this holiday than with one of the most American Dishes of them all? Hamburgers!
This President's Day edition, I am giving you four special hamburger recipes I am sure will liven up your BBQ.-GTG

GTG-Presiden't Day Celebration
Delicious Beef Burger Recipe

Ingredients
2 pounds ground chuck
1 Tablespoon BBQ sauce
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
Salt
Pepper
Cooking Directions
Heat grill to HIGH
In a medium-sized bowl, with a fork, gently combine the first 4 ingredients.
Season generously with salt and pepper.
Gently form a mixture in four 1-inch thick patties.
Place patties on the hottest part of the grill
Sear until browned (1-2 minutes on each side)
Move Patties to a cooler part of the grill; continue grilling until desired doneness, 4-8 minutes per side.
Turkey Burger Recipe

Ingredients
1 1 /2 Pound ground Turkey (92%-93% Lean)
1/2 cup Gouda cheese (finely grated)
4 thinly sliced scallions
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup sweet mustard
1 minced Garlic clove
Salt
Pepper
Cooking Directions
Heat grill to HIGH
In a medium-sized bowl, with a fork, gently combine the first 6 ingredients.
Season generously with salt and pepper.
Gently form a mixture in four 1-inch thick patties.
Lightly oil grill
Place patties on the hottest part of the grill
Sear until browned (1-2 minutes on each side)
Move Patties to the cooler part of the grill; continue grilling until desired doneness, 5-8 minutes per side.
Greek Lamb Burgers Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 pound ground lamb
1/2 small onion, minced (1/4 cup)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano or 1 teaspoon dried
salt and pepper
4 pita breads (6-inch)
2 medium beefsteak tomatoes, sliced for serving
Tzatziki sauce:

1/2 English cucumber, peeled, seeded, and grated (3/4 cup)
1/2 cup plain yogurt
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons chopped fresh mint
1 small garlic clove, minced
salt and pepper
Cooking Directions
Heat grill to HIGH
Make Tzatziki; In a medium bow combine cucumber, yogurt, lemon juice, mint, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Make burgers. In a medium-sized bowl, with a fork, gently combine the first 4 ingredients. Of Lamb burger.
Season generously with salt and pepper.
Gently form the mixture into 16 small patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
Grill until medium-rare, 2-3 minutes per side.
To serve, warm pitas on the grill; halve, and fill with burgers, tzatziki, and tomato sauce.
Chickpea Burger Recipe

Ingredients
1 (15 oz) can drained and rinsed chickpeas
4 trimmed scallions
2 slices white sandwich bread
1/3 cup unsalted peanuts or almonds
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 Tablespoon fresh ginger
salt and pepper
1 large egg
Olive oil
wholewheat English muffins
lettuce
Dijon Mayonnaise
Cooking Directions
Heat grill to HIGH
In a food processor, gently combine the first 7 ingredients.
Pulse until roughly chopped.
Remove half the mixture from the bowl.
Add 1 Large egg to the food processor.
Process until smooth.
Add to reserved mixture in bowl; mix well.
Form the mixture into four 3/4-inch thick patties.
Brush each side generously with olive oil; grill until charred, 3-5 minutes per side.
Serve burgers on grilled whole wheat English muffins with lettuce and Dijon mayonnaise.
