May 2024 Edition

Updated: May 13

The month of May is like a blooming flower, representing spiritual growth, renewal, and abundance...

May is here! April was a wonderful warm-up to Spring. With it, we were able to enjoy some delicious, yet light dishes in the month. I hope you all enjoyed making them as much as I do. I am always emboldened during this season to create healthy dishes that are creative and delicious. I also am a firm believer that although we are surrounded by technology our bodies still respond to certain things like the full moon and the tide. Humans naturally want to eat lighter in the warmer months and heavier during the winter months. The circadian rhythm of life.

One of the most delightful aspects of May is the abundance of fresh produce that graces our tables. From a variety of fresh greens to crisp asparagus and tender peas, the bounty of the season inspires a myriad of culinary creations. Farmers' markets come to life inviting us to explore and experiment with new ingredients. May is the perfect time to embrace the farm-to-table movement, supporting local growers and savoring the unparalleled freshness of seasonal fare.

Whether it's a leisurely stroll through the park or a rejuvenating yoga session in the Sun, May invites us to reconnect with nature and nurture our bodies and minds.

But May isn't just about nourishing our bodies; it's also a time to nourish our souls. As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Mother's Day or honor the memories of those who have passed on Memorial Day, May reminds us of the importance of connection and community. Whether it's sharing a meal with family or hosting a picnic with friends, food has a unique ability to bring people together, fostering bonds that transcend the boundaries of time and space.

So as we bid farewell to the cool embrace of spring and embrace the warmth of summer's embrace, let us savor each moment that May brings. From the first bite of a ripe strawberry to the laughter shared with loved ones, May reminds us to celebrate the simple joys of life and embrace the abundance that surrounds us.
