Sesame Cucumber Salad

A salad that can be served with beef, pork, or fish.



Whenever I make this dish it is the first one to go. This salad is always a treat when it is Chinese food night. It is great paired with hot or cold foods like lettuce and sticky rice, or you can enjoy it alone.:

Toast your sesame seeds for a richer flavor-GTG

The longer you keep in marinating in its wonderful soy sauce the better it will taste. Enjoy this refreshing asian themed treat.


Sesame Cucumber Salad

Ingredients



  • 8 thinly sliced cucumbers

  • 1 Tablesooin salt

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 2-3 tablespoons of soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

  • 1 Tabloespoon Vegetable Oil

  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper




Cooking Directions


1. Place cucumbers in a colander. Set colander on a plate.

2. Sprinkle cucumbers with salt and toss. Let stand 30 minutes.

3. Rinse and drain well.

4.In a bowl, combine onions, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, oil, sesame seeds and cayenne.

5. Add cucumbers and toss to coat.

6. Cover and refridgerate until ready to serve

Serving : 8-10
