Cinco De Mayo Party Platter

Cino De Mayo. Truly a wonderful celebration to see and to be a part of.



The sights the sounds, and the delicious taste of this holiday add more than just flavor. It makes you feel like you are bursting with life. The upbeat atmosphere is hard to beat and even harder to deny the charm of the holiday.


It can mean so many things to so many different people. Cinco de Mayo could be just going to a Mexican restaurant and enjoying their cuisine, or it could be going to a Mexican American museum and learning the rich history behind the holiday, or it could be enjoying a Cinco de Mayo parade. :

For me, I have always loved cooking for people, and what better holiday to cook a memorable meal and have a fiesta with wonderful drinks as well. I host a Cinco de Mayo Party every year. A big hit is my Cinco de Mayo party platter. To the regular onlooker, it can look complicated. It is relatively easy to put together, and everyone will love you for re-creating this Cinco De Mayo party platter. Let me know in the comments how it turned out.


Chef's Notes *Use both soft and hard-shelled Tacos for more options. *Use metal buckets and ice to store your beverages. Makes them cooler. *Add a black bean salsa *Add a small bowl of Jalapenos, whole and sliced. *Pair with Corona beer, Mojitos, Tequila, sweet Rum, and Margarita. *Buy more Limes than you intend on using. They go fast.


Cinco De Mayo Party Platter Recipe


Ingredients



  • 8 Taco Shells (Hard)

  • 1 bag of Round Tortilla Chips

  • 1 bag of regular Tortilla Chips

  • 1 pound Steak

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 pound Chicken- shredded

  • 2 packs- Taco Seasoning

  • 1 bottle of Corona

  • 5- Limes

  • 16 oz. Salsa

  • 16 oz. Pico De Gallo

  • 16 oz/ Guacamole

Cooking Directions


1. Open both bags of chips and put them on the platter, leaving space for the sauces, meats, and taco shells.

2. Place salsa, pico de gallo, and guacomole on Platter.

3. Slice limes. Place in a small bowl and put on a platter.

4. Place steak, ground beef, and chicken in separate bowls. Season with Taco seasoning and 1/3 cup of beer. Let sit for 20-30 minutes.

5. In a medium skillet, Add 1/3 cup of beer. Cook steak to your liking. Set aside and let rest.

6. In a medium skillet, Add 1/4 cup of beer. Cook ground beef until brown. Drain oil and place in a bowl, and put on a platter.

7. Once the steak has cooled. Squeeze lime juice over it. Then slice into thin strips, place in a bowl, and put on the platter.

8. In a medium skillet, cook shredded Chicken, (8-10 Minutes). Drain oil and juice. Place in a bowl, squeeze lime juice over the Chicken, and put on the platter.

9. Cook taco shells. Let cool. Then add to the platter.

10. Serve.
