A Chef's tip for you and this recipe: When making the crispy treats and you are using your stove instead of the microwave, melt the butter in a large saucepan on low heat. Add Marshmellows;cook until Marshmellows are completely melted and the mixtureis well blended,stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add cereal; Mix well.

Chocolate Crunch Football Treats  virtual shopping list


  • 3 Tablespoons butter or margarine

  • 1/2 Cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 package ( 10.5 oz.) Marshmellows

  • 6 Cups of Rice Crispies cereal

  • 1 package (4oz.) semi-sweet chocolate, melted

  • 1 package (4oz) semi-sweet White chocolate, melted

Cooking Directions

  1. Microwave butter in large microwave-safe bowl on HIGH for 45 seconds or until melted.

  2. Add Peanut Butter

  3. Add Marshmellows: toss to coat.

  4. Microwave for another 1 1/2 minutes, or until marshmellowsare completely melted and mixture is well blended.

  5. stir after 45 seconds

  6. Add Cereal Mix Well.

  7. Shape into 24 football shapes (About 1/4 cup each)

  8. Melt semisweet chocolate

  9. Dip tops of footballs in semisweet chocolate

  10. Place chocolate sides up, on wax paper

  11. Melt white chocolate and spoon into a small resealable plastic bag

  12. Press out excess air, seal the bag.

  13. Trim a small piece off one bottom corner of bag. Use to draw laces on footballs.

  14. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
