Sherbet is both lower in calories than the rich, high-fat “gourmet” ice cream.

I have loved making Ice cream and Sherbert from scratch since I was a little girl. Living in the country, it was a 30-40 minute drive to the next town. So having ice cream or even going to the City was a luxury we all were grateful for.:

It taught me the concept of patience and being rewarded for my good behavior. My grandma had an old-fashioned ice cream maker, and we would spend the Summer making homemade ice cream.
It is so much more fun to make. Being able to make it myself, I can make sure that it is as healthy as I like.
This Easy Homemade Orange Sherbert recipe is very easy to make, and it will have you and your kids want to make it every week for a healthy dessert option.

Easy Homemade Orange Sherbert Recipe

Ingredients
6 Oranges
1/2 cup Sugar
A Fork
A Casserole dish
Cooking Directions
1. Squeeze all Oranges. That should make 3 cups of juice.
2. In a saucepan, combine 1/4 cup of Orange juice with 1/2 Cup of sugar.
3. Let boil for 1 minute..
4. Transfer into casserole dish and pour remaining orange juice in as well.
5. Place in freezer. Let chill 2-2.5 hours
6. With a fork break into smaller pieces. *Use a food processor if needed.
7. Transfer to airtight container store in freezer.
Serving Tip: Let sit at room temp for 10-15 minutes before serving.
