College Pressures A vast majority of the population would argue that high school and College are the best years of your life. One thing I feel we don't talk about as a society is the internal and external pressures many of you will face while attending College. You will indeed meet many different people from all walks of life, and you will experiment and puch the boundaries of what you were taught by your parents. If you are lucky, you will find out who you are on so many different levels. Organization and time management can be integral in assisting to relieve some of the Univeristy stress. The majority of pressures college students face are, *but are not limited to; Anxiety( social, general, panic attacks). An unrealistic family expectation. Sudden Depression-lack of motivation, hopelessness, being overwhelmed, low self-esteem, homesickness, loneliness. Relationship difficulties (Long distance, communication issues). You must practice self-love to the fullest while attending College. When I say self-love, a lot of you think I mean going to a spa, or getting your nails or hair done, or shopping. When in reality, at different times in your life self-care can look like many different things. At this time, since you are a student. Your self-care has to be concentrated in self-discipline and getting the proper amount of sleep. All those stressors I discussed are set on by lack of sleep, and not taking the proper amount of study-breaks. Self-love will always be about making the right decision for yourself at that moment. By attending College you are already taking that step. It is a new experience and no one can blame you if you get caught up in the social aspect of it, but there is also a wonderful benefit and joy in finishing something you started and having the self-control and mindset to push yourself to do it. Congratulations on your journey. To bigger and better!
